The Centre has about 86 ha land of which nearly 50 ha is under experiments and general plantations.The soils of the farm are non-alluvial innature and their occurance is closely related to physiographic units.
The center has seven laboratories well equipped with sophisticated modern equipments viz. agroforestry, agronomy '&' plant physiology, plant protection, soil analysis, GIS lab, horticulture and tree improvement with microprpagation unit. Other facilities like mist chamber and polynet house are also being used for research purpose.
Institute has well equipped GIS lab with one workstation and two desktop computers. Image processing software like ENVI and IDRISI are available in the lab. Large size scanner is available for scanning toposheets and maps.
A well furnished library with computerised facilities comprises of collection of reference books, periodicals, reports, maps etc. currently the library subscribes 74 periodicls of which 51 are Indians, 23 foreign, 1200 reprints and has more than 2000 books. The Agricultural Research Information System (ARIS) Cell is well equipped with latest processing and analysis software viz. SYSTAT 12.0, Word Perfect Suite 8.0, MS Office 2013, etc. Local Area Network (LAN) has been established at the Centre using LINUX server, fast ethernet swithces, enhanced CAT-5 network cable. More than 50 clients are connected by this network to access Internet and Email facilities as well as CD database. Network is well protected by hardware firewall (Cyberoam) and antivirus software.
Leased Line Internet connectivity of 100 mbps has been provided by RailTel Corp.Ltd. Web Site has been developed and is hosted on the web server (http://www.cafri.res.in/).
Photo & Art Lab
A well equipped photo lab meets day to day photographic and repographic needs of the scientists. Facilities exist for developing films and making black and white print slides. Provision also exist for the preparartion of charts and posters.
